The only Border collies that I breed will work CATTLE well , I work with any buyer to get them a dog that suits their purpose .I may require that I pick the pup to make the guarantee valid. (People have brought their grankids out and picked the "cute " pup or the one that is marked like "their old dog" ect. and I know that is not the dog that will make them a hand , for instance.) A pup may end up being a sheep or goat dog and still work and but I will still help you get a dog that works cattle for you ( possibly trade you out for a dog the same age) . Raising and training a pup to maturity is also a factor. For instance , if you take a 6 month old out and get it stomped my moma cows and ruin it or beat it for running horses - don't call me crying . Dogs need proper kenneling and training for the first 2 years. BECAUSE OF THESE VARIABLES , dogs with problems must be returned to my farm or possibly videoed , for my veiwing between 10 and 16 MONTHS FROM BIRTH for the replacement guarantee to be in effect .
Hip and eye trouble needs a vet report for me , on these issues , I will replace the dog with the best dog I can up to 2 years , simply because I want to know if something genetic is going on down line.
